Madera horseshoe pioneers to be honored with plaque dedication

The City will partner with the Big Valley Horseshoe League (BVHL) to honor Harlen and Sharon Rippetoe with a dedication of the Rotary Park horseshoe facility on November 9, 2022, at 6 pm. The Rippetoes have spent 20+ years organizing, supporting, and encouraging horseshoe recreation in Madera, and were instrumental in the installation of the 10-pit horseshoe facility at Rotary Park, which routinely draws 100+ players from Madera and surrounding communities in the peak season. In collaboration with the Parks Department, BVHL, which Harlen co-founded in 2000, has actively maintained the horseshoe pits at multiple city parks on a voluntary basis.
