The City of Madera is looking for a collaborative Director of Financial Services with excellent leadership and communication skills to be part of its management team. Reporting directly to the City Manager, the Director of Financial Services is a key, at will department head position that accepts full responsibility for the City’s utility billing, business licensing, general accounting, expenditure controls, purchasing, grants administration, and maintenance of the City’s investment portfolio. The City follows the principle of continuous improvement, and the new director will have the opportunity to enhance information sharing related to financial data, as well as oversee the expenditures and accounting of significant funds related to the COVID pandemic that will be invested in infrastructure improvements.

The Police Officer Trainee is a trainee class responsible for attending a basic academy course of study necessary to gain Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) approved peace officer status. This position is not intended as a permanent appointment, and those not appointed the class of Police Officer after successful completion of the law enforcement academy are rejected during probation.
