The City of Madera Parks & Community Services Department maintains a Calendar of Special Events detailing community events scheduled to occur on public property. Typically, these events are community celebrations and festivals, parades and athletic or recreational activities that are open to the public.
The Madera Arts Council presents live music from local bands live at Lion's Town & Country Park. This program is FREE to attend. Check back for dates once they are announced.
The first weekend in October in Courthouse Park, next to the Historical Society, there is an annual “Fiesta in the Park” sponsored by Latinas Unidas. This event includes a day of music, cultural foods and craft booths.
The City of Madera’s Parks & Community Services Department is proud to partner with key sponsor, Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) to host an 8 week Movies in the Park series during the summer at Lions Town and Country Park. Guests are treated to old fashioned summer evenings with movies under the stars. This program is free to attend, making it a great opportunity for the whole family!

National Night Out, an annual event held every first Tuesday of August, is dedicated to the development of crime awareness and neighborhood safety across the City of Madera. The event promotes and bolsters the bond between law enforcement and residents, and encourages residents to participate more with their city elected officials. NNO involves over 37.8 million people and 16,124 communities across America.
In 2016, the City of Madera was ranked third in the State of California for its participation in the National Night Out program.
Everyday people are discovering the benefits of the heart-healthy pomegranate, as well as the versatility and just plain delicious nature of this amazing fruit. Enjoy pomegranate-inspired dishes at restaurants throughout Madera, take part in the Run For Your Life 5K at Home Grown Cellars pomegranate farm, see pomegranate-themed works of art from the Madera County Arts Council, or enjoy the party at the Pomegranate Festival on Saturday, November 1st at the Madera Municipal Airport. The entire city will be celebrating the pomegranate; all that’s missing is you.
