Cooling Centers help residents beat the heat

Due to anticipated excessive heat this week, the City of Madera will activate its Cooling Centers Monday, June 20, 2016 through Thursday, June 23, 2016. Transportation to the centers is available via Madera Dial-A-Ride between the hours of 7:00 am and 6:30 pm. There will be no charge on the Dial-A-Ride system for rides to cooling centers. Riders must advise dispatch when scheduling pick-up that they desire to be taken to a cooling center. Residents may contact Dial-A-Ride at (559) 661-7433. The City of Madera proudly partners with Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E) in order to provide cooling centers to residents during times of excessive heat.
