The City’s Parks & Community Services Department hosted two special “Walk the Trail Days” events during the month of April, where the wraps were officially taken off of new exercise amenities that were recently installed alongside the Vernon McCullough River Trail, and at Lion’s Town & Country Park.
The new public health amenities were purchased and installed using grant funding from the Kaiser Foundation Hospital’s Northern California Community Benefit Program with the goal of helping to encourage regular exercise and to promote a Healthy Eating, Active Living (HEAL) lifestyle.
Both events featured raffles and giveaways, informational booths, and live demonstrations which detailed how to properly use the new equipment before concluding with a community walk down local trails to help raise awareness of the newly available amenities.
