Notice of Public Hearing: Energy Services & Financing Contract

Notice is hereby given that per California Government Code Section 4217.12, the City Council of the City of Madera will hold a public hearing to consider awarding an Energy Service Contract to ENGIE Services U.S. for the design, construction, and installation of energy-related improvements and maintenance services and a financing contract with a financing company for the implementation of certain energy-related improvements to City Facilities per Government Code Section 4217.10 to 4217.18.

 

Hearing Date, Time, and Place:

Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at 6 PM in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 205 W. 4th Street, Madera, CA 93637

 

All interested persons may appear and be heard at the public hearing.

 

In order to make an award of the Energy Services Contact, the City Council is required to make findings that the cost to the City to implement the energy related improvements per the Energy Service Contract will be less than the anticipated marginal cost to the City of thermal, electrical, or other energy that would have been consumed by the City in absence of purchasing the energy improvements under the Contract. Additionally, the City is required to make findings concerning the financing contract that provide the funds for the repayment of the financing or the cost of design, construction, and operation of the energy conservation facility, or both, as required by the contract are projected to be available from revenues resulting from sales of electricity or thermal energy from the facility or from funding that otherwise would have been used for the purchase of electrical, thermal, or other energy required by the City in the absence of the energy conservation facility or both.

A copy of staff report and contracts will be posted and available as of October 31, 2019, in the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall and at www.madera.gov.
