The Greater Madera Kiwanis Club is seeking to revive a city-wide Fourth of July celebration that will include a community fireworks display. The club recently received city approval to hold a show at the Madera District Fairgrounds, and it is now looking for community support to help make the event a reality.
“A high-quality professional fireworks display hasn’t been put on in Madera for a few years,” said Kiwanis Club member Rohi Zacharia. “The Madera Kiwanis is honored to be at the forefront of bringing back this tradition. We feel it’s something the city needs. We’re looking at a way to bring it on as a nonprofit by relying on our community partners as sponsors and making it a fun, free, dynamic, large-scale event, which is why we chose to move it to the Madera Fairgrounds.”
So far, the City of Madera, Madera County, Madera Noon Rotary, and the Madera Evening Lions have signed on as partners for the event. Local businesses and community members wishing to offer support or participate as a sponsor can visit madera.gov/sponsor or contact Rohi Zacharia at (559) 673-1010 to learn more.
