Annexed Property -Adell-D Street
The City has updated its Council District boundaries to incorporate the recently annexed Adell-D Street property into Council District 3, as required by California law.
The Adell-D Street annexation added new territory to the City's jurisdiction, including one existing residence and property currently under development for new single-family homes. While the area officially became part of the City through annexation, it was not automatically assigned to a City Council district. State law requires newly annexed territory to be incorporated into the nearest existing Council district to ensure residents are represented and eligible to vote in City elections.
To comply with this requirement, the City Council adopted an ordinance amending the Municipal Code to assign the annexed property to Council District 3. This action ensures current and future residents of the area are represented by the District 3 Council Member and may participate in City elections.
