Planning Commission
The Planning Commission is made up of seven members, each appointed by the Mayor or a member of the Madera City Council. Commissioners serve four-year terms and must reside within the City of Madera.
Regular meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at Madera City Hall, located at 205 W. 4th Street, Madera, CA 93637. Meetings are open to the public.

What the Planning Commission Does
The Planning Commission plays a vital role in shaping the growth and development of the City of Madera. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing, maintaining, and updating the General Plan and Specific Plans
- Reviewing and approving development proposals, including subdivisions, use permits, and variances
- Advising the City Council on citywide planning matters, such as:
- Zoning and land use regulations
- Subdivision design
- Sign ordinances
- Special planning studies
