The City of Madera is committed to providing transparent, accessible, and meaningful opportunities for the public to participate in local government.

Each meeting agenda includes the specific date, time, location, participation instructions, and information regarding public comment opportunities.

Public meetings provide an opportunity for community members to observe City business, provide input, and participate in discussions regarding matters considered by the City.

Public meetings are generally held in the City Council Chambers at Madera City Hall:

Members of the public may participate by attending meetings in person or, when available, through remote participation options such as Zoom.

Meeting agendas include specific instructions for attending, joining remotely, and providing public comment.

Attend In Person

Members of the public are welcome to attend meetings in person at the Madera City Hall Council Chambers.

Please review the meeting agenda for the meeting date, time, location, and any additional instructions.

Participate Remotely

When remote participation is available, members of the public may join the meeting using the electronic meeting information provided in the meeting agenda.

Remote participants may provide public comment using the instructions included in the agenda, which may include online participation instructions or a designated phone number.

Provide Public Comment

Members of the public may comment on agenda items during meetings. Public comment procedures and instructions are included in each meeting agenda.

Written comments or materials submitted for consideration should follow the instructions provided for the applicable meeting.

When available, live broadcasts and recordings of public meetings may be accessed through the City’s website.

Meeting recordings are provided as a public resource and may be viewed after a meeting has concluded.

Meeting agendas, agenda packets, minutes, and related documents are made available to support public review and participation.

Any writings or documents provided to a majority of the City Council within 72 hours of a meeting regarding an item on the agenda will be available for public inspection at:

Meeting-related documents will also be made available on the City website at www.madera.gov.

The meeting facilities are accessible to individuals with disabilities.

Requests for accommodations that support participation in public meetings, including signing services, assistive listening devices, accessible electronic formats, or alternative formats for agendas and reports, may be submitted to the City Clerk’s Office.

The City requests that accommodation requests be submitted as soon as practicable, as additional time may be required to arrange or provide requested services. At least seventy-two (72) hours’ notice prior to a meeting is requested but not required.

When submitting a request, please provide sufficient information for the City to evaluate the nature of the request and available accommodations. Please include appropriate contact information in case additional discussion is needed regarding the requested accommodation.
