Public Records Request

Public Records & Reports

The California Public Records Act (CPRA), Government Code 6250 et seq., grants the public the right to access records maintained by state and local agencies in the normal course of business. Some records, however, may be exempt from disclosure under state law.

Enterprise Systems Catalog

In 2015, Senate Bill 272 amended the CPRA to require local agencies to maintain a publicly available catalog of Enterprise Systems. This catalog must be updated annually to provide transparency about the technology systems used by the agency.

To inspect or obtain a copy of a public record, you may submit a request in one of the following ways:

While written requests are not required under the California Public Records Act, completing the form helps us identify the specific records you are seeking and ensures that your request is properly tracked and answered within the statutory timeline.

Describe to the best of your ability the records you are seeking and provide any other information such as dates, names, property address, or record type to assist us in identifying the specific record.

The Public Records Act allows the City up to 10 days to respond to a request and/or provide an estimated date on when the public records, if any, will be available. Under certain circumstances, the City may notify you of the need to extend the response time by an additional 14 days.

Copies for standard size documents are 10¢ per page for single sided copies, or 15¢ per page for double-sided copies. Additional fees may apply for alternate formats.
