Audited Financial Statements

The City of Madera prepares Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports (ACFRs) each year to provide a complete and transparent overview of the City’s financial condition. These reports are independently audited by certified public accountants to ensure accuracy, accountability, and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

The audited financial statements summarize the City’s revenues, expenditures, assets, liabilities, and fund balances across all departments and programs. Together, they reflect the City’s commitment to sound fiscal management and transparency in the use of public funds.

Why Audited Financial Statements Matter

  • Accountability: Independent audits verify that City finances are managed responsibly and in accordance with state and federal standards.
  • Transparency: Residents and stakeholders can review how tax dollars and public funds are collected, managed, and spent.
  • Financial Stability: Consistent, audited reporting supports credit ratings and helps attract investment and grant funding.
