Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Commission

The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Commission is made up of seven members, each appointed by the Mayor or a member of the Madera City Council. Commissioners serve four-year terms and help guide the use of federal CDBG funds to support housing, infrastructure, and community development programs that benefit low- and moderate-income residents.

Regular meetings are held on a quarterly basis at Madera City Hall, located at 205 W. 4th Street, Madera, CA 93637. Meetings are open to the public.

  • Alyssia Arredondo – Appointed by Mayor Pro Tem Rodriguez, District 2
  • Vacant – Appointed by Council Member Montes, District 3
  • Cesar Villegas – Appointed by Council Member Evans, District 4
  • Stevie Wright – Appointed by Former Council Member Garcia, District 5
  • Diana Mosqueda – Appointed by Council Member Villegas, District 6

What the CDBG Commission Does

The CDBG Commission advises the City Council on matters related to the federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, which is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The program aims to develop viable communities by providing decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expanded economic opportunities—principally for low- and moderate-income persons and households.

  • Reviewing and recommending funding priorities for CDBG projects and activities
  • Advising the City Council on housing, infrastructure, and community service needs
  • Encouraging public participation in the CDBG planning and reporting process
  • Supporting efforts to eliminate slums, blight, or urgent community health and safety concerns
