Keeping Madera’s streets clean helps protect local waterways, reduce pollution, and maintain the beauty of our neighborhoods. The City of Madera’s Public Works Department operates both day and night sweeping routes throughout the year to remove debris before it reaches storm drains, keeping our streets safe and looking their best.

Find Your Street Sweeping Day

Street sweeping days vary by neighborhood. The City is divided into 20 distinct street sweeping routes, each with its own schedule.

To determine when your street is swept:

1. Open the 📄 Street Sweeping Schedule & Map.
2. Locate your home on the map and note the route number for your area.
3. Match that route number to the corresponding Day Shift or Night Shift schedule listed on the chart inside the document.

Note: Street sweeping schedules are updated several times per year. New rotations are posted here and announced through City communication channels when available.

How to Prepare for Street Sweeping

• Move vehicles off the street during your scheduled sweeping window. Parked vehicles block sweepers and reduce cleaning effectiveness.
  
  
• Remove trash carts from the curb after pickup and avoid placing bulky items or yard waste in the street.
  
  
• Keep gutters clear of leaves, branches, and debris to help prevent flooding and ensure full coverage by sweepers.
  
  
• Follow posted parking signs in your area indicating no-parking hours on sweeping days.
