Neighborhood Watch

The Neighborhood Watch program is a community-driven initiative designed to keep neighborhoods safe and connected. Residents work together with local law enforcement and city officials to monitor their area, prevent crime, and promote safety awareness.

Participants learn how to recognize suspicious activity, report incidents effectively, and collaborate with neighbors to solve local safety concerns. The program also fosters stronger community relationships by encouraging communication between residents, police, and city departments.

Neighborhood Watch is free and open to all residents. By joining, you can help create a safer, more connected community and receive guidance and support from the Madera Police Department and city outreach teams.

Starting a Neighborhood Watch in your area is simple, free, and impactful!

Step 1: Call the City of Madera Community Outreach team at 1 (559) 661-5111 or 1 (559) 661-2853.

Step 2: Schedule a meeting with the outreach team at their office or at a location convenient for you.

Step 3: The outreach team will invite your district Council member, local law enforcement, and relevant city department heads to discuss neighborhood concerns and ways to address them.

Step 4: Hold three Neighborhood Watch meetings in your community. Once completed, you will be recognized as a Certified Neighborhood Watch by the Madera Police Department.

Download and print brochures to share with your neighbors and help generate interest in starting your own Neighborhood Watch program.
