Food Assistance

The City of Madera has partnered with the Fresno Madera Area Agency on Aging to provide a hot meal at our two congregate meal sites. The Frank A. Bergon Center and the Pan-American Community Center serve a hot meal Monday -Friday at 11:30 am. 

  • Meals are free (suggested donation) to anyone 60 years and older.
  • Must complete an FMAAA registration form to reserve a meal.
  • Meals are on a reservation system.
  • Must make a reservation at the senior center of your choice in person or over the phone by 10:45 a.m. one day before the day you want to eat.
  • Serving time is at 11:30 at each center.

Senior Commodities

Commodities provides supplemental food to seniors 60+ the 1st Friday of each month at all senior centers. For more information, please contact the Madera Food Bank at 1 (559) 674-1482.

Brown Bag Program

The Brown Bag Program provides supplemental food bags to seniors ages 55 & older, 3rd Wednesday of each month at all senior centers. Participants donate $24.00 per year. For more information, please contact the Madera Food Bank at 1 (559) 674-1482.
