Public Engagement

The Madera Police Department’s Crime Prevention team is proud to be part of the community. You’ll find our team at events across the city — from job fairs and school programs to neighborhood celebrations and parades.

  • Job fairs at local schools
  • Booths at the Farmers Market
  • “Walk Safe” programs at Martin Luther King Middle School
  • Ribbon cuttings for new businesses
  • Annual events such as parades, Fourth of July celebrations, and K-9 demonstrations

If you’d like to have the Crime Prevention team attend your event, email us at pdinfo@madera.gov.

Community Engagement Opportunities

There are plenty of ways to connect with your police department. Residents are encouraged to:

  • Tour the police facility
  • Go on a ride-along with one of our officers
  • Volunteer at the station or community events

Crime Prevention Resources

Our Police Department lobby offers free brochures and pamphlets on how to keep yourself, your family, and your neighborhood safe. You can also explore trusted resources from the National Crime Prevention Council for helpful tips on topics such as:

  • Personal safety and situational awareness
  • Home security and burglary prevention
  • Identity theft protection
  • Drug and alcohol abuse prevention
  • Neighborhood safety and community reporting

We welcome you to stop by the station to pick up materials or talk with our team about crime prevention in your neighborhood.
