Curbside Cleanup Program Notice: The City of Madera’s curbside cleanup program begins February 16. Residents may place approved bulky items at the curb on their scheduled collection week. Items must be separated by type and placed curbside no earlier than the weekend before pickup. Improperly placed or prohibited items will not be collected.

Public safety is a core priority for the City of Madera. To ensure the highest level of emergency readiness, the City funds 25 sworn positions, including:

Our frontline apparatus—including both engines and the truck company—are consistently staffed by three-person professional crews. Each crew is led by a Fire Captain and by two Fire Apparatus Engineers, ensuring a highly skilled team is ready to respond to every call.
As Madera expands through residential development and industrial growth, the Fire Department evolves in parallel. We are committed to scaling our resources and infrastructure to maintain optimal response times and service excellence for all citizens, regardless of the complexity of the incident.
Emergency response knows no boundaries. For large-scale incidents or complex emergencies requiring additional resources, the Madera City Fire Department operates under a robust mutual aid agreement with the Madera County Fire Department. This partnership ensures that our community has access to a comprehensive network of specialized equipment and personnel when it matters most.
